Genesis High School

This major Lease-Leaseback project, a new small high school campus, was built in record time for the Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD).  This project included 5 "Emily" classroom buildings, for a total of 25 classrooms, in addition to the main multi-purpose building.  At bid time, the District requested a proposal to accelerate the original 14 month project schedule to 9 months, so the campus could open at the end of summer break, with no interim housing required.

The cost for this acceleration was approximately $140,000, and the District declined the option.  Even though the acceleration option was declined, LMC was able, through intense coordination and management, to deliver the project in the desired 9 months, getting the students into their seats at the start of the year, and saving the District not only the $140,000 acceleration cost, but also the expense and trouble of interim housing for the start of the school year.
