Susan B. Anthony Elementary School Fire Repair

Client: Sacramento City Unified School District 

Delivery: Lease-Leaseback / Emergency Contract 

Project: Just before Christmas vacation, arsonists destroyed a multi-classroom  building’s interiors and a significant portion of the structure. Landmark gutted, remediated, repaired, and completely modernized this older building in 23 ½ days, updating the building to current District standards and equipment. 

Services: Landmark worked as design-build team leaders on a 24/7 schedule, coordinating closely with the architects, consulting engineers, Division of the State Architect (DSA) inspectors and engineers, and the school’s Insurance Authority representatives.  

Challenges: Repairing the building in only 23 ½ days so students could occupy classrooms when they returned from Christmas vacation.

Solutions: Landmark provided hour-by-hour scheduling, design and engineering assistance, 24/7 work crews, creative problem solving, and DSA review and approval while the project was underway.

Success: Landmark delivered the completely repaired building in just 23 1/2 days so students could re-occupy the building when they returned from Christmas vacation.
